Project Investor Pospectus
I don't really
have anything to put on this page, but I figured
it would be cool to look like I actually care or
that we need investors. But the truth is, I am
not into sharing, except with my wife of course.
You know, the standard 90/10 split where I get
the 10 of course and well worth every penny.
That does not
leave much for investors. And besides that, who
is going to pony up a few million to buy a small
percentage of a pile of walmart computers in my
garage. I guess there are a few people out there
more insane than I am. But I personally would not
trust myself with that much money or any money
for that matter.
Of course if
you want to give me a bag full of cash and see if
I can do anything with it, I am willing to accept
your generous gift and give you what is left
after my shopping spree at CDW.
But what would
I do with all that money?
Hell, I
started with almost nothing and still have most
of that left. So if I had money, I would not know
what to do with it. Its not like money will make
the programing code get written faster.
But I guess if
you don't have a fancy page asking for investors
people don't take you seriously. If your next
step is not an IPO, then why are you doing it
anyway?
Hey BOZO! (meaning
me) what, you plan to stay in your garage forever?
As a matter of
fact, when I make money money I would like to get
a bigger garage. One big enough to work on my
cars and run my servers.
There is
really no diference between a garage and an
office, except the drive to work is much closer.
When a server alarm goes of, I just walk to the
garage. Don't have to drive to a datacenter. It
is actually very convienient.
I know I am a
garage startup. But when I am sucessful, I would
like to be a garage sucess. I like working from
home and I woudl not want to give that up.
I guess if you
want to buy my garage you can. But I have enough
to get this rolling and am not actively seeking
venture capital. But then again, I am not likely
to turn my back on it i it shows up at my garage
door.
I am willing
to accept offers for my entire web business if
they are big enough for me to retire and maybe
just build hot rods or restore classic cars. But
don't make an offer unless you are serious. I
have turned down offers as high as $50 for
buzztrader.com. Yes, that is absoluely true. I
even had an offer as low as $25 and the idiot
sent me a check like I would cash it and take the
offer.
If you think
buzztrader.com is worth a couple hundred dollars,
do some research. Or better yet, start your own
web 2.0 business and see how far you get with yur
$200.00.
That is pretty
much the reason I avoid speaking to investors.
They think their money is gold and technology is
worthless. Weather it's the guy who wants to
spend $25 or the ones that have $1,000,000.00,
the story seems to be the same. They have no clue
whatis involved and they want you to build
everything in half the time needed for half of
what it costs. Then they want it to make 10 times
as much as it can.
As for me, I
am just happy to pay my bills and have a few
dollars left to work on my project cars in my
spare time.
